Thank you for considering Spangenhelm Publishing!
We apologize, but due to our current volume, we are not currently accepting any unsolicited manuscripts or query submissions.
We appreciate your trust in us with your manuscript, so we appreciate you reviewing our submission guidelines.
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR MANUSCRIPT.
Our reviewing process is a long and lengthy one, and it will help us immensely if our guidelines are followed in order to speed up the process. Please, carefully read the below guidelines for submitting your manuscript. Adherence to these guidelines will ensure your manuscript being reviewed by our acquisitions team.
Please, NO phone queries or inquiries. We completely understand your excitement and persistence. However, constant calling does not speed up the process. We accept the first three chapters of your manuscript. Include a professional query letter and contact information. We ask that you send all email queries or inquiries to email@example.com. Your email will be responded to in a timely manner.
All titles under Spangenhelm Publishing will be listed in Books In Print and be available through Ingram Book Group. Our titles are made available to more than 39,000 retailers, libraries, schools, internet commerce companies, and other channel partners, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Chapters/Indigo (Canada), and other well-known book retailers and wholesalers around the world and online retailers in more than 190 countries. This includes every major e-retailer including iBookstore, Kobo, Amazon Kindle, Google Play, and Barnes & Noble’s Nook store. We also list some titles available as audiobooks.
If you choose to submit by a query, those manuscripts will not be returned and will be deleted or destroyed if not accepted for publication. Please retain at least one copy of your manuscript when submitting an electronic version for our consideration and review.
If you are under the age of 18, you must have parental approval to submit your work, and you must have that permission stated on the first page of your manuscript along with the name and contact information of your parent or guardian.
Also, unedited submissions WILL NOT be reviewed or considered for publication. As an author, it is your responsibility to submit a clean and thoroughly-edited manuscript to a publisher. Please be mindful that what you submit, to any publisher, represents you.
Along with your submission, please include a book marketing and promotions plan. There are no exceptions. Should we choose to publish your book, we want to insure that you understand your responsibility, as an author, to promote your work. Additionally, knowing your ideas will help us to help you.
Spangenhelm Publishing reviews manuscripts in all genres of fiction, non-fiction, and young adult fiction.
General Interest Fiction and Nonfiction Books:
Currently, we are only accepting solicited manuscript submissions. Unlike most publishing companies, we do not require you to be affiliated with a literary agent. However, in order for your submission to be considered, you must follow the submissions guidelines set forth below.
Our editors are seeking tasteful provocative, intelligent fiction manuscripts in the areas of thriller and suspense, romance, paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and general interest, as well as historical, cultural and anthropological nonfiction, and lively stories of all genres of fiction for the general population between the ages of 18 and older (as well as Young Adult fiction). A novel must be well written and professionally edited, in order to find a place on the list. The editors prefer to see completed manuscripts. Query letters are currently not being accepted.
Please do not fax submissions. We will accept email submissions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Unless requested, we will not accept submissions by mail. We also cannot review manuscripts or queries that have been posted on the Internet.
We prefer a typed (letter-quality), double-spaced manuscript in Microsoft Word format. Please ensure that all manuscript pages are numbered with the author’s name.
Please include a marketing and promotions plan with each submission. Manuscripts submitted without the requested material will not be considered.
You do not have to furnish illustrations, but if you wish, copies of a few comprehensive sketches or duplicate copies of original art will suffice.
Please keep a copy of the manuscript for your files. Because of the volume of manuscripts we receive each day, submissions are virtually impossible to track, and it may take up to twelve weeks before we reach a decision.
Submissions will not be returned. Never send your ONLY copy of a manuscript.
We look forward to reviewing your submission!
